The author, a Jungian analyst, follows the quote with: „A pure heart […] doesn’t mean that you are a pure person. God save us from pure people. A pure heart is a good heart, an honest heart. It means that you have stopped hiding. It means that you have stopped pretending to be pure, but have actually become pure by acknowledging your impurities.“
